What started as a singular boutique dreamed up by Australian entrepreneur Eloise Monaghan in 2006 now appears to be one of the hottest and fastest growing upscale retail concepts. Honey Birdette, Australia’s first high end sensuality boutique is not only thriving in Australia but is stretching its reach across the United Kingdom and into the United States. The only problem that its customers have? The new stores can’t get there fast enough!

Honey Birdette announced in April an aggressive rollout plan that would have 40 physical locations standing in the United Kingdom by the close of 2018. Locations will be rolled out in phases, with phase one spanning into cities live Leeds, Westfield, Liverpool and Newcastle before beginning additional phases. This aggressive rollout is well justified. The first three boutiques outside of Australia opened just last year within the United Kingdom and saw a great deal of success, encouraging a bold growth strategy. It is also noted that Honey B may be quietly looking for additional European cities to continue its growth.

Honey Birdette is also continuing to expand its services to US shoppers, who genuinely can’t get enough of the company and are clamoring for physical locations to be built in the States. An expanded product line, faster shipping and the potential to qualify for free shipping once an order crosses a price threshold are just a few things to look forward to on the site.

‘Avaaz’ means ‘voice’ in various middle eastern and European countries. And Avaaz.org’s mission is to give people from all over the world just that – a voice to be heard. Since 2007, Avaaz has been focused on getting people to stand up for themselves and take action. Currently, their outreach spans about 6 continents and 15 languages.

Avaaz accomplishes this with the use of various tactics that range from public petitions, videos, and emails to sit-ins, rallies and media stunts. They target world issues that center around climate change, human rights, corruption, animal rights, poverty, and conflict.

One of their most notable examples of this was on full display when Avaaz took a myriad of cardboard pigs to the World Health Organization, in an effort to demand an investigation into the possible links between swine flu and enormous pig farms. The number of protesters that turned out was absolutely astounding! It’s said that activists lined up for over a 3-mile stretch, from the Dalai Lama to the Chinese embassy in London to initiate talks between the two sides.

So as you can see, Avaaz is certainly no stranger to controversy. And by looking at their unique approach to conflict resolution throughout the world, it’s safe to say that the best is yet to come!

James Dondero has made a good name as a philanthropist and participant of community development. For several decades he has supported charity causes such as constructing educational facilities and public amenities in Dallas. Lately, he has re-established a zoo for the hippos. People are excited to go and watch the hippos in their new state-of-the-art facility.

Millions of people go to the zoo every year.However, this year it will be different. The hippo habitat is indeed a fascinating exhibition. This project has taken about fifteen years to materialize. People from Dallas had to travel to Africa and watch hippos. After the project was completed, Dallas people do not have to fly out anymore to see hippos.

Highlands Capital Management donated one million dollars to this project. After a famous hippo had died in a certain outpost, reconstruction plans began. The donation fund was able to construct 5000 square feet lode for hippos. Their habitat is characterized by an open area with a perfect view to the hippos. The total amount of rehabilitating the zoo was about fourteen million dollars.

Besides James Dondero, other philanthropists such as Harold Simmons, Eugene McDermott, Hal and Diane Brierly also participated. The outcome of the zoo has exceeded the expectations of many. The overseer of this zoo agrees that it was more than they hoped to achieve. The community is grateful for this benevolent act of all the well-wishers who participated.

For more than thirty years, James Dondero has been working in equity and credit markets. His specialization has been in distressing and high-yield investments. He has co-founded Highlands Capital Management and he is also its president. The firm was established in 1993 and it has been leading in collateralization loan obligation development. It also develops solutions oriented in credit for institutions and retail investors in the world.

On December 5, 2015 Omar Yunes of Sushi Itto took first place in the Best Franchisee in the World competition. The competition took place in Florence, Italy where Yunes was recognized for his contributions to his brand. The story of Yunes is an inspiring one, as he became franchisee of the Japanese food chain at the young age of 21, and has worked his way up to now owning 13 franchised units. These restaurants, located in Mexico City, Puebla, and Veracruz, make up roughly 10% of the units Sushi Itto has.

After receiving the award, Yunes beamed with pride about not only his successes, but those of the company as a whole. “I feel very proud. I am only the representative, the reality is that this is a prize of the 400 employees of the 13 units that manage and the brand that has allowed us to innovate”, he said. It is clear that Yunes has a talent for delegating praise and prestige, two factors that contributed to his win at the BFW competition.

The 2015 BFW was attended by representatives from 34 countries, where each franchise was evaluated based on it’s effect on the network as a whole, not necessarily the brand. For example, Yunes was awarded for his contributions in terms of knowledge, savings he implemented, how well he was able to motivate his employees, and overall improvements to the model. The franchisee-franchise relationship is something that Yunes worked tirelessly on to improve, and he was recognized for these efforts at the BFW competition.

In recent times, Casio Audi has associated himself with the finance industry more than ever before. However, before venturing into the business realm, he began as a founding member of Viper – a top rock band known around the world. Together with his band mates Andre and Felipe Machado, Pit and Yves Passarell, Audi began in music in 1985. He played drums for the band until 1989 – when he discontinued to pursue business instead.
